Filtration systems
Description
Buchi nutsch filters can easily be combined with our reactors for solid / liquid separation after the synthesis. The inert materials allow safe processing in a inert atmosphere of a wide range of solvents and acids in a completely sealed (buchiflex) glass system under full vacuum.
The slurry is transferred into the filter. The solid content in the slurry is held back by the filter cloth forming a filter cake, while the filtrate runs away to the outlet valve in the bottom plate. The filtering stage finishes when the filtrate is of small quantity, which can be shortened by squeezing the filter cake by turning the height adjustable stirrer.
The purpose of this filter is controlled filtration with a contained discharge by wiping out with the fixed glove into a bag system. The filter vessel can easily be lifted, lowered and tilted due to its versatile and solid stand.
Stirred Nutsch Filters are used for filtration as well as for solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). As solid phase reactors, they can be equipped for fully automated processes.
Pressure filters are designed for filtration, pressurizing the vessel with up to 6 bar pressure. The filter vessel is jacketed and can be temperature controlled by a circulator. Process connections are standard Tri clamp configuration.
Nutsch filters can be used also for drying, crystallization, ion exchange, in chromatography.
