The safest and most easy-to-use automated mercury intrusion porosimeter
Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry is a pore size measurement technique based on the physical principle that a
non-reactive, non-wetting liquid will only penetrate fine pores when a sufficient pressure is applied to allow it to intrude. There is a well-known relationship that describes the pressure required to force liquid mercury into pores of specific diameter called the Washburn Equation: Measuring the volume of mercury that is intruded into a sample as a function of increasing pressure permits the generation of pore size and pore volume distributions for pores accessible from a material's exterior. Using instruments capable of measurements at pressures between 0.2 and 60,000 psi, like the POREMASTER® Series, pores between 3.6 nanometers and 1100 microns may be measured.
The PoreMaster series of mercury intrusion porosimeters significantly minimizes exposure to both liquid mercury and mercury vapor, ensuring maximum safety for operators. Many automated and ergonomically considered features provide users with a simple operation experience for determining the size distribution and volume of pores within macroporous materials. Four distinct models are available to fit the specific pore size and sample throughput requirements of customers in a wide range of industries using this technology, such as oil and gas exploration, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, and building materials.
• Designed to provide the safest operator experience, even when working with mercury
• Features such as the simplified liquid mercury introduction and automated oil purging make PoreMaster the easiest-to-use mercury intrusion porosimeter
• The ultimate in high-pressure data resolution is achieved via the control provided by the screw drive and the intelligence of the autospeed pressure generation routine
• Liquid mercury filling and low-pressure measurements as well as high-pressure measurements are typically completed within 30 minutes
